**Summer Laborer Job Description**
**Job Summary**
We are looking for temporary help from now until the beginning of October, for a project in Sturgis, South Dakota. This position will be responsible for keeping the job site clean and free of clutter, occasionally unloading trucks, and assisting onsite personnel with various other tasks.
**Salary**
* $16 -$17/hr.
* 40 hours per week
* Hourly pay/overtime eligible
* Paid weekly via direct deposit
**Essential Functions**
* Promote safety on the job site, attend safety meetings, and keep work areas clean
* Be a dependable team member
* Willingness to learn new tasks, duties, and responsibilities
* Clean, maintain, and safely operate all equipment and manual/power tools
* Retrieve materials
* Assist Superintendent, Foreman, and craftspeople as needed
* Operate equipment such as a gas saw, Bobcat, and forklift
* Assist with all tasks, even if it is below your skill level
**Job Requirements and Qualifications**
* No education requirements
* Must be 18 years of age
* Preferrence to those who live in or around Sturgis, SD
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random employee pool drug/alcohol testing
* Must have personal transportation to and from the job site
* Must arrive on time to job site fit for duty for required shift and have personal protective equipment (PPE) and necessary tools with you.
* Attend all safety meetings and maintain safe job site practices following company policy
* Wear and maintain PPE as directed by supervisor and safety team, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests
* Work overtime as required, including some weekends
* Maintain acceptable personal hygiene
* Dress appropriately for working conditions
* Display a positive attitude towards the company, fellow employees, and customers
* Take direction and accomplish duties outlined by your supervisor and ask questions when you do not understand the task
**Physical Requirements**
* Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 75 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift
* Ability to safely climb up and down ladders
* Ability to work alone once instructions have been given
* Able to complete a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following: Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
* Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, leather boots, and any other safety-related equipment
* Able to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms over 10 feet
* Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow, depending on the job location
* Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required
