Based in Switzerland and/or the U.S., as our part-time
Media Relations Consultant , you ll be working closely with our firm s CEO and COO to ensure that word about our business gets out in the way we need it to, to whom we need it to, and when we need it to.We need help to not only celebrate the sequential growth of our portfolio and other corporate achievements along the way, but to also build general brand awareness and recognition to shape our desired corporate image and to support our longer-term objectives.What you will be doing
Lead the development and implementation of our firm s external communications plan.Manage day-to-day media relations/media requests for brand and corporate issues.Idea generation (i.e. news releases, thought leadership opportunities etc).Build general awareness of the Unity brand in the U.S. real estate and Swiss financial markets.Develop written materials including press releases, Q&A, media standby statements on property acquisitions as required.Arrange interviews and advertorial with key industry publications.Build relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and corporate stories through social media outlets as appropriate.Assist in the development and implementation of Brand PR programs to support brand building initiatives/innovation/corporate promotions.Help oversee program execution from kick-off through to completion.Provide guidance and direction to PR agency partners and review all brand PR materials to ensure our communications are accurate, relevant and consistent with our brand and overall corporate messaging principles.Evaluate the effectiveness of media programs and communicate results back to our leadership.Develop and implement an online communications strategy that includes a monthly content development strategy and functional website enhancements.Develop and manage external corporate and local community events in support of our corporate giving strategy.Identification of sponsorship opportunities (i.e. conferences and sports).Compilation of online Press scrapbook.Complete management of the firm s social media.Drafting press releases based on property acquisitions, forming new alliances, or announcing hiring of new staff.Manage relationships with reporters, editors, and other industry professionals to ensure positive coverage our business.Plan and attend events such as press conferences, awards ceremonies, and charity fundraisers where you can meet with journalists in person.Preparation of senior executives for interviews.You have the following
Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsBSc/BA in PR, communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field.2 - 3 years' experience working in a Media Relations role or in Public Relations.Proficiency in English (and ideally German and/or French).Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities.Highly organized with the ability to multitask.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, wire services, media monitoring software, and other public relation tools.Demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others.Must possess strong project management skills.Must be able to meet tight deadlines with flawless execution.Needs to have access to key Swiss and U.S. real estate and broader investment channels.Additional SkillsComfortable with virtual collaboration with colleagues in multiple locations.Self-disciplined with the ability to work with minimal supervision.Thorough and accurate and takes ownership of their work.Proven experience as a public relations specialist or similar position.Experience in project management and execution of PR campaigns and/or initiatives.Experience in copywriting and editing.Working knowledge of graphics, photo and video-editing software is an asset (i.e. Photoshop, XD, Illustrator etc.)Aptitude in presentation and public speaking.What we offer
