SUMMARY

Firefly Clean and Inspection Technicians work closely with Quality Engineers to ensure that the process is being performed according to AS9100 standards. This work primarily includes the inspection of components as well as the cleaning and passivation of hardware when required. We are hiring for a range of experience levels from entry level to highly experienced and we encourage all interested candidates to apply. This position is located at our rocket production facility north of Cedar Park, in Briggs, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initial receiving inspections for all hardware and tooling.
  • Hydrostatically and pneumatically proof and clean components.
  • Identify and document discrepancies found during inspections.
  • Follow, review, improve and provide feedback on work instructions.
  • Meticulous inspection of rocket engine components: combustion devices, valves, turbomachinery, and other sub-assemblies.
  • Safely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure operations.
  • Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
  • Perform shop level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 1 to 4 years experience (or equivalent) in aerospace, aviation or comparable field
  • Proficient with Borescope
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals
  • Comfortable using micrometers and other inspection equipment
  • Can operate ultrasonic bath
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs. for limited durations
  • Schedule varies depending on needs, flexibility required
  • Work nights, weekends and overtime when necessary

Desired:

  • High level of attention to detail
  • FOD sensitive
  • Cross functional communication skills
  • Can read P&IDs and drawings
  • Experience with Odoo, Teamcenter, NX, Windows suite
  • Familiar with Alodine and other aerospace corrosion coatings
