Our client, a public software company, is looking for a Head of Commercial Legal to join their team near Redwood City, CA. This position will report directly to the General Counsel, with high visibility across the C-Suite and business executives. This client is seeking individuals with deep commercial experience across the tech industry and a track record of leading complex negotiations. This candidate will have the opportunity to build and scale a commercial team within a growing, successful tech company, with immediate hiring plans for the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, grow, and train commercial legal team, ensuring high performance and capability in handling complex legal matters.
- Handle and oversee complex negotiations, demonstrating expertise in crafting strategies that protect the company's interests while facilitating growth.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on commercial contracts, partnerships, and transactions.
- Develop and implement legal policies, playbooks, templates, and best practices to streamline operations and mitigate risks.
Requirements
- J.D. required
- 7+ years of legal experience, preference for SaaS and/or AdTech industry experience
- Prior experience managing 1 or more attorneys
- Proven capacity to navigate high-stakes negotiations and intricate legal matters
