**Job Description**
**About This Role**
The Head of RTP Warehouse Operations (Pharma Site) is a key member of the site leadership team and is accountable for all Materials Management functions, warehouse operations, Drug Product manufacturing support, as well as technical transfers, equipment modifications, validation, changeovers, and routine/non-routine facilities maintenance projects. The incumbent will direct warehouse activities (including shipping, receiving, inter-site transfers, and storage) and works directly with Materials planners to ensure that manufacturing Bill of Materials are accurate to support proper procurement of raw materials needed for drug product filling, small molecule, oligonucleotide manufacturing campaigns.
The incumbent reports directly to the General manager of Manufacturing Operations and collaborates closely with global materials resource planning, site Quality Control, site Quality Assurance and Finance. The position will direct the development of departmental workflows, workload management, guidance instructions or procedures and general technical support to cross-functional manufacturing, lab operations and office staff and is as such critical to ongoing operations.
**What Youll Do**
* Coordinate with Site Management and Global Planning counterparts to ensure alignment and feasibility of the production schedules for manufacturing operations
* Support the identification, development and implementation of process improvements through performance measurement and analysis, using proven process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to deliver business results in areas of customer satisfaction, quality, reliability, productivity, and safety
* Manage support of the tech transfer process and is responsible for ensuring that the raw material needs for the manufacturing campaigns are met from a warehouse operations perspective
* Maintain warehouse process flow mapping and utilize the data to drive both efficiency and Ergonomic improvements by leveraging current state, technology and automation
* Manage the following: 1) Development and maintenance of accurate budget forecasting tools/models for determining annual budget targets for RTP Warehouse Operations, as well as quarterly reforecasting processes; and 2) Budget adherence, cost tracking and escalation for any over/under runs against budget commitment planning
**Who You Are**
You are a strong leader with analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems. You have a strong knowledge of inventory management, manufacturing and warehouse operations and demonstrate servant leadership when developing your team.
**Qualifications**
**Required Skills**
* A Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college is required
* 10-12+ years relevant experience and/or training in a GMP regulated industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of 5 years of people management experience
* Working knowledge of materials and supply chain management
* Strong knowledge in inventory management systems. Working knowledge of ERP systems is essential
* Possesses excellent project management skills
* Ability to travel on occasion to other Biogen sites for collaboration, support, and training
**Preferred Skills**
* A BS in Engineering, Business, Finance or other related field is preferred; an advanced degree is strongly preferred (MS/MBA)
* Has a broad knowledge of other operations areas such as Manufacturing, Quality, Manufacturing Sciences, Procurement, and Regulatory.
* Possesses strong manufacturing process knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex problems.
