Network Engineer

LHH is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our client's team in Everett, WA. In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure the secure and efficient operation of our banking systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, with specific experience in the banking and financial services industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions to support the operations of our banking systems, including core banking applications, online banking platforms, and ATM networks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and develop network architectures that meet the needs of our banking operations.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability and security of our banking systems.
  • Implement security measures to protect network systems and data from cybersecurity threats, including compliance with industry regulations such as PCI DSS and FFIEC.
  • Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to maintain optimal performance and security.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on network-related issues and initiatives.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with banking software and systems, such as core banking applications, online banking platforms, and ATM networks.
  • Experience with compliance standards and regulations applicable to the banking and financial services industry, such as PCI DSS and FFIEC.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
