Job Description: Business Development Representative

Primary Function:

The Business Development Representative drives strategic growth and expansion by leveraging market insights, industry trends, and customer relationships to develop partnerships that maximize revenue. Through productive collaboration with the sales and marketing teams, they identify new market opportunities and position Bedrock as a leader in the truck bed space, achieving sustainable growth, enhancing market competitiveness, and creating value for customers.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting: Identifying leads, opportunities (filling the top of the funnel) through various channels such as cold calls, email outreach, social media, and networking events.
  • Lead Generation: Generating leads through research, data analysis, and marketing campaigns to create a pipeline of potential customers.
  • Qualifying leads: Assessing the potential of leads by evaluating their needs, budget, timeline, and decision-making authority to determine if they are a good fit for Bedrock s products.
  • Initial Contact: Reaching out to leads to introduce Bedrock and the products offered, build a rapport, and gather information to understand their challenges and needs.
  • Setting Appointments: Scheduling meetings or demos for sales representatives with qualified leads to further discuss how Bedrock can address their needs.
  • Follow-up: Maintaining regular communication with leads to nurture the relationship, answer questions, address concerns, and guide them through the sales process.
  • CRM Management: Updating and managing the CRM to track interactions, monitor progress, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Market Research: Conducting research on industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to identify areas for business growth and stay informed about the competitive landscape.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align strategies, share insights, and optimize lead generation efforts.
  • Metrics Tracking: Monitoring KPI s such as lead conversion rates, pipeline targets, and revenue targets to assess the effectiveness and to make data-driven decisions.
  • Feedback Loop: Providing feedback to the marketing and product teams based on customer interactions and market insights to refine messaging, improve product features, and enhance overall customer experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry best practices, sales techniques, and product knowledge to continuously improve skills and adapt to evolving market dynamics.
  • Understand the company s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company s performance
  • The position will require 25% overnight travel with some trips lasting several consecutive days.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Skills:

  • Financial management, technical capacity, performance management, business acumen, communication proficiency, ethical conduct, leadership, problem solving/analysis, strategic thinking required.
  • Strong math and communication skills required.
  • Advanced computer, office, internet, and email skills required
  • Have a solid understanding of all available social media channels available and search engine optimization strategies.
  • Must possess current and valid driving record with clear history for the past three years.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field.
  • Five to 10 years experience and demonstrated track record of accomplishment in sales and marketing.


Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
  • Lifting of 25 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)


Work Environment:

  • Typically, inside a climate-controlled office and is required to occasionally move from office to manufacturing areas and outdoors to perform duties
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environment where the use and wear of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses or side shields on glasses and closed toe shoes are mandatory.
