The Center for European Policy Analysis is accepting applications for the Future Russia Fellowship.


The Future Russia Fellows with include:


  • A two-year, full-time in-residence fellow at CEPA s headquarters in Washington, DC.


The successful candidates will be early or mid-career social scientists or applied policy analysts, with proven experience designing and implementing interdisciplinary research projects and managing diverse teams of colleagues. The fellow should also have a track-record of producing high-quality research in Russian and English, and a strong reputation in the field. Applicants should ideally have academic training to PhD level in a relevant field of the social sciences or equivalent professional experience. A knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and a familiarity with a range of approaches to data collection and fieldwork is encouraged. We are particularly seeking fellows who have strong connections in the war-time Russian exile community.


Both the resident and non-resident Fellows will be embedded in CEPA s initiatives to provide analysis and strategic foresight on Russia s future to decision makers and the interested public. They will report to the Director of CEPA s Democratic Resilience Program.


The resident Fellowship will cover a stipend, relevant logistical support for relocation, workspace, technical and administrative assistance, and an activity budget. The non-resident Fellowship will cover a stipend and an activity budget.


Fellows will be selected through an open, competitive process, focusing on applicants track record, reputation in the field, and ability to contribute to public discourse and education. The deadline for the submission of applications will be June 6th, 2024. It is anticipated that the Fellows will take up their positions in the autumn of 2024.
