Friends Community School (FCS), founded in 1986, is a progressive, co-ed Quaker K-8 day school serving a diverse student body from the greater Washington, D.C. area. Job SummaryFCS seeks a 40 hour/week advancement associate. The qualified candidate supports the Director of Advancement in keeping families informed, engaged, and committed to the school and its financial support. S/he is involved in all programming, including fundraising, relationship building, program development, volunteer management, and actively involving all constituents in the school community.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Director of Advancement on fundraising and community-raising strategiesUse Blackbaud Raiser's Edge to process all gifts, maintain donor relationships, actions, and appeals, and generate pledge reminders, queries, and reportsGenerate thank you letters, email, and other communicationProcess donations and giftsAssist with the planning of fundraising and other community events such as the Spring Auction and Grandfriends Day.Organize and maintain digital media archivesProvide logistical support for school fundraising or cultivation events and meetings, including producing media and donor kits, maintaining guest lists, and gathering and preparing registration materialsOther duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency and experience with Raiser s Edge, Microsoft Word, and ExcelHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to organize, prioritize and follow-through on assignmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a collegial, good humored mannerAbility to be discreet and to maintain confidentialityFamiliarity with ResearchPoint, Google Apps for Education, Photo editing and related skills (preferred)Experience in a non-profit schoolKnowledge of QuakerismMust pass criminal background investigation
