Job Summary

Our manufacturing client is hiring a Finishing Manager to oversee plant operations to ensure consistent performance across shifts, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include fostering a culture of continuous improvement, managing employee development, scheduling production activities, enforcing safety standards, overseeing quality control, managing material usage, conducting preventative maintenance, and achieving production targets. Additional responsibilities include coordinating production startup and shutdown, changeover activities, conducting department meetings, managing special projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and health standards. Requirements

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience required, with preference for paint or wood finishing
  • 5+ years of lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • 5+ years of production supervision experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor of Science degree desirable
  • Advanced problem-solving and oral communication skills
  • Ability to plan production schedules and communicate effectively with each shift
  • Understanding of customer-supplier relationship
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Experience supervising groups of 20-50 employees
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English desirable
  • Woodworking or cabinetry experience preferred, but not required
  • Must meet the physical demands of the position which include an enclosed factory environment with some heavy lifting and areas requiring protective gear
  • Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, including lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs
