POSITION: Clean Energy Design Consultant
Scope: Solar, Batteries, Electric Vehicles, HVAC, Wind
Reports to: Sales Manager
Department: Design and Sales
Status: Full Time, Salaried Exempt, Benefits Eligible
SUMMARY
The Clean Energy Design Consultant is an integral player on the NWR team; they work closely with every department to ensure the success of each NWR project. The ideal candidate understands electricity; is curious and driven; builds authentic relationships with teammates, customers, and vendors; and is a collaborative problem-solver.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Collaborate with customers to identify their energy independence goals.
- Design renewable energy systems appropriate for their goals, space, and budget.
- Design heat pump systems appropriate to customer needs
- Proactively tend to the progress of the inquiry, modifying designs as needed.
- Facilitate the consummation of the installation agreement.
- Collaborate with the Admin and Finance team to ensure accurate customer contracting and invoicing.
- Prepare electrical one-line and permitting documents.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Management team, ensuring each project is properly permitted with all relevant information shared so installations go smoothly.
- Participate in the continual improvement of departmental and interdepartmental operations
QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Interest in and understanding of solar, energy storage, EV charging, and efficient HVAC
- Communicates professionally in-person, in writing, and over the phone. Understands the importance of quick response times and the frequent need to follow-up.
- Skilled in Aurora Solar, Energy Toolbase, and/or other modeling software.
- Organized, self-directed, self-starter.
- Disciplined in the use of CRM tools for deal flow and task management (Salesforce)
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Skilled at consultative sales
- Able to set up a ladder and ascend/descend safely
- Valid driver's license
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in a consultative sales capacity
- 2 years solar industry experience - preferred
- 2 years HVAC sales experience - preferred
- Experience with drones - preferred
- Experience with Aurora, SketchUp, CAD, Solid Works or similar drafting/design software - preferred
- Experience in the Solar industry and/or HVAC industry - preferred
- Experience reading construction drawings - preferred
- Education or demonstrated aptitude in the electrical field - preferred
Professional Development
- Seeks to build knowledge on the solar industry, renewables, modeling software, green investment financing, and tax code as it relates to green energy incentives.
- Collaborates to improve sales process and documented SOP s
