School DescriptionFounded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy ofthe Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-sex elementary schools committed to academicexcellence within the context of a Christian, faith-based community. The educational mission is deeply rooted in the200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in30 countries; including 25 schools in the United States and Canada. The essence of this tradition is the totaldevelopment of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our girls and boys are taught insingle-sex classrooms, but follow a similar curriculum and share in many activities. With a total enrollment ofapproximately 700 students, the Schools are organized into three academic divisions each led by a division head.

Position DescriptionSacred Heart Schools is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join its team of service-driven professionalscommitted to fully supporting the Schools' mission and goals. The position's initial areas of focus will be workingclosely with the Technology Systems Administrator to support all users. The position's responsibilities will evolve aswarranted by the candidate's performance and the needs of the Schools. The Technician will report directly to theDirector of Technology, while supporting technical stability, integrity, and consistency of the philosophy and Goalsand Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools.

Essential Job Functions:

Manages the Schools 1:1 program, including setup, distribution, collection, and maintenance of devicesAssists Technology System Administrator to maintain and provide backup support for a secure network and infrastructureTroubleshoots and resolves technical end-user computer and peripheral device issuesCoordinates technology purchasesGeneral Duties:

Manage the Schools 1:1 programProvide setup and maintenance of all faculty and student devices through Mobile Device Management toolsOrganize distribution and collection of devices to faculty and students with assistance from the Technology Integration CoachCoordinate the duties of the Technology Integration Coach to provide a responsive technology support and hardware repair systemMaintain inventory control of all the hardware and licensed and supported software and appsCreate and enforce policies pertaining to the 1:1 devices and their useAssist the Technology System AdministratorMaintain a secure Windows server/network environment including file/print/exchange servers, firewall, virus protection, backups, user login accounts, and infrastructurePerform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, key processes, and infrastructureInstall, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and infrastructure including routers, switches, hubs, servers, cabling, wireless, printers, terminal connectivity, and e-mail systemsMaintain sitemap, documenting network, and domain configurationsEnsure all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate mediaImplement technical technology-related directives, approved plans and hardware and software replacement, redistribution, and upgrade programsPerform onboarding and off-boarding procedures for all employeesProvide technical supportInstall, configure, and troubleshoot end-user technology hardware, software and network connectivity for classrooms, the Library, administrators' offices, staff agencies. and other school facilities in accordance with directives and approved plans and prioritiesProtect the integrity of the student learning experience to the extent it is supported by technology hardware and softwareRespond to end-user requests for technical assistance and repairsProvide one-on-one instruction and answer "how-to" questions on the use of operating system and supported general-use productivity applicationsMaintain inventory control of all the hardware and licensed and supported software and appsSet up and maintain audio/visual equipment used for school eventsCoordinate Technology purchasesWork with vendors to obtain best possible price for technology purchases, including maintenance, support, and device insurance contractsOrganize the purchase/lease of equipmentMaintain an awareness of new technology products, trends, and advancesResponsible for own professional growth and continuing educationReview, evaluate. and recommend technology purchases that are in line with technology budgetFulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology

Qualifications:
