Description
Job Title: CNC Lathe and Mill Machinist
Location: Avon Lake, Ohio
Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Lathe and Mill Machinist to join our team in Avon Lake, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Haas lathe and mill machines efficiently to perform multiple machining and cutting operations on various materials, including steels and alloys. The work involves a limited range of production tasks with close tolerances, although not typically highly involved in difficult setups.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Haas lathe and mill machines efficiently in a minimum amount of time.
- Perform multiple machining and cutting operations on various materials, including steels and alloys, using both lathe and mill machines.
- Position pre-set tooling in the machines and set non-preset tools per the machine manufacturer's instruction manual.
- Insert the program in the machines and make preliminary checks on the first piece, 10% in between, and the last piece.
- Adjust tools to maintain print dimensions and submit the finished operation for inspection approval.
- Read prints and programs, and alter simple instructions such as speeds, feeds, depth of cut, chamfers, etc.
- Follow safety procedures and policies at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC Haas lathe and mill machines.
- Ability to work with close tolerances and perform multiple machining and cutting operations.
- Familiarity with various materials, including steels and alloys.
- Proficiency in reading prints and programs and altering simple instructions.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain print dimensions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
