Primary ObjectiveThe primary responsibility of the Diesel Mechanic is to deliver mechanical services for the repair and maintenance of Eichelberger vehicles, tractors, trailers, and other equipment to ensure their roadworthiness. Additionally, they are tasked with administrating daily trailer washes and effectively communicating any alterations to relevant departments. Job RequirementsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook)Ability to speak, read, and write English.Must be organized and able to follow directions and manage time efficiently.Must have a valid driver s license and good driving record.Class A CDL is preferred but not required.Knowledge of Diesel Mechanics Physical RequirementsMust be physically capable of lifting to 50lbs, occasionally lifting to 75lbs and up to 100lbs with a lift.Must be physically capable of climbing and working at heights of up to 14ft off the ground.Requires a lot of physical movements such as bending, stretching, walking, squatting, pulling, pushing, lifting, and working on your feet. Tools/EquipmentLifts, Jacks, Acetylene torch, Arc Welding, Aluminum WeldingIt is preferer for candidates to have their tools. Work EnvironmentNoisy, and dusty and includes outdoor work. Tasks/DutiesProvide routine maintenance of tractors, trailers, and pick-ups including oil changes, adjusting, and realigning brakes, tire, and battery maintenance.Provide repair services as issues arise efficiently.Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.Use electrical and air-driven tools.Respond to service calls while on the job and during on-call as needed.Service calls on broken-down vehicles.Effective communication skills with drivers to understand repair and maintenance needs.Any other duties related to mechanical, service, or repair work.
