Head of Sales - NGS Software


Job Details

Invenex Search is partnered with a high-growth bioinformatics platform provider, leading the academic and research industry, having captured a large portion of this customer-base.


As they grow further, they are looking for a sales leader to help them penetrate the biotechnology and pharmaceutical customers across the US.


This is the organisations first commercial hire, reporting directly into the CEO, and will act as the commercial face of the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify, engage with, and close new lines of business across the following landscapes; biotechnology, pharmaceutical, biopharm.
  • Provide basic technical guidance on the NGS informatics software, up to the point where the technical support team can take over any queries
  • Maintain longer-term partnerships with key biopharma contacts given the longer-term sales cycle of these deals
  • Map out a sales and business development strategy, including areas for key hires, territories, and business development activities
  • Attend conferences, expos and industry events, acting as the commercial face of the organisation


What do we need from you?


  • 5-7 years of commercial sales or business development experience across the genomics or life science software landscape
  • A strong understanding of NGS and bioinformatics software technologies
  • Experience selling into biopharmaceutical accounts across the US/Globally
  • Willingness to carry out business development activities from day one, focusing on generating new business alongside existing account management
