Position Overview:

As the Continuous Improvement Manager for our client, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and efficiency across the organization. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, implement Lean methodologies, and foster a culture of innovation and process optimization at a flagship location in Coles County, Illinois.


Responsibilities:

  1. Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead and champion continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization. Develop and implement strategies to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity across all business units.
  2. Lean Methodologies: Implement Lean principles and methodologies to streamline processes, eliminate non-value-added activities, and optimize resource utilization. Train and mentor team members on Lean concepts and tools.
  3. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement across various departments and functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that drive operational excellence.
  4. Data Analysis: Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  5. Change Management: Drive change management initiatives to ensure successful implementation of continuous improvement projects. Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and communicate the benefits of change effectively.
  6. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to build a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Provide coaching and support to employees at all levels to foster a mindset of innovation and problem-solving.
  7. Project Management: Lead cross-functional improvement projects from initiation to completion. Define project objectives, establish timelines, allocate resources, and track progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  8. Best Practices Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across different business units and regions. Identify and promote successful improvement initiatives to drive organizational learning and replication.
  9. Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor progress regularly and make adjustments as needed to achieve desired results.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean principles, methodologies, and tools. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion.
  • Change management expertise, with a demonstrated ability to navigate and overcome resistance to change.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software applications (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Tableau) is a plus.
