Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Perform repair jobs including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, hvac, drywall repairs, and electrical.
  2. Respond to all maintenance calls and troubleshoot issues efficiently and effectively.
  3. Ability to (be) self-motivated, organized, responsible, follow established protocol, and work alone.
  4. Comfortable working at heights (rooftops, ladders, man-basket).
  5. Capability to operate, or learn to operate, a skid steer and fork truck.
  6. Assist with base area winter snow removal operations as needed.
  7. Perform daily pool/spa maintenance, including detailed record keeping.
  8. Flexible working hours. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings. Some job sharing may be required.
  9. Help with other departments as needed.
  10. Other duties as assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:

  1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests at all times.
  2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals and timely completion of required OSHA training.
  5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  6. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The successful candidate will possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a driving back-ground check. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, drywall, painting, and pool/spa preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Stressful situations may be encountered, and the successful applicant will be able to remain calm, think clearly and logically, while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
