GO Northwest Housing Resource Center, a community based, nonprofit organization is focused on helping individuals become and remain homeowners in Baltimore City by providing education, counseling, technical assistance and access to financial resources to potential and current homeowners. We help individuals achieve their goals of financial stability, homeownership, and strong neighborhoods to strengthen Baltimore City as a great place to live.

We are looking for an energetic, resourceful, solution-oriented relationship builder as our Community Outreach and Engagement Manager to plan and conduct outreach and engagement activities that build and maintain productive relationships, communicate and promote our services and projects, provide community resources to address community and residents needs and concerns . The Community Outreach and Engagement Manager will implement, and manage projects and activities to assist residents preserve their homes and communities, strengthen, sustain, and promote their neighborhoods as desirable homeownership communities, and achieve the mission and goals of our organization. The successful candidate will :

Communicate and engage with residents and stakeholders in GO Northwest and other community programs/activities through direct outreach, organizing and education activities to grow and sustain homeownership and neighborhoods in Northwest Baltimore,

Build rapport and relationships/ partnerships with community residents, organizations, stakeholders, and public and private sector agencies to address community issues/interests and provide access to GO Northwest services and other resources to help residents improve/sustain their community.

Produce and implement GO Northwest and community projects/ activities

Promote GO Northwest services, projects, and activities to increase participation and address residents housing/ community needs/issues

Complete, track and report on Center outcomes and grant deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES include:

Establish and maintain relationships with community residents, stakeholders, nonprofit and government agencies to inform residents about and implement community projects/activities.

Implement direct outreach and engage residents and stakeholders in Center and community activities that promote our mission and goals.

Organize, conduct, and attend meetings/activities to discuss community issues and interests, gain/ encourage community input, develop and implement activities to achieve desired community supported outcomes.

Connect residents to resources that address/achieve homeownership and community issues

Coordinate and promote Center s programs/services to increase resident participation. Respond to inquiries, provide, and collect information regarding Center programs.

Produce, coordinate and engage residents in block and community projects/ events; secure and coordinate volunteers.

Create and write impactful communications content and articles for print and digital media

Produce, participate in, and/or support neighborhood marketing activities and community-related events.

Monitor, follow up and document program/project activities and outcomes, ensuring completion and goal attainment.

Be knowledgeable / keep abreast of community issues, development, and trends that can help or impact community or GO Northwest interests and goals.

Collect, track, and maintain program/neighborhood data, and trends for GO Northwest and funder reporting. Track quantitative results and evaluate effectiveness of all outreach and engagement activities. .

Produce, write and maintain reports, documentation, and information for GO Northwest and funder project/program outcomes and deliverables.

Represent the organization at all external activities in a positive and professional manner.

Perform related duties as required.

Education, Skills and Experience REQUIRED

Bachelor s degree and minimum 3 years of work experience in community outreach, community organizing/ engagement, community development, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field. Associate degree and 5 or more years of work experience in aforementioned areas.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; successful experience in working with diverse people of varying ages, incomes, races, ethnicities, and genders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills: experience in public speaking and producing effective content.

Demonstrated ability to produce and conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, and communicate information to diverse audiences in an understandable manner.

Strong organizing skills: demonstrated knowledge of community engagement tools and techniques.

Highly organized, detailed oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills: demonstrated experience in handling challenging situations in a productive manner.

Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a changing work environment possesses effective time management skills.

Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing community programs/projects in a community setting.

Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, judgment, and enthusiasm in implementing/managing job responsibilities.

Maintains confidentiality, discretion, integrity, and professionalism in day to day and challenging situations.

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); work experience in utilizing social, print, and online media; use of photography desirable.

Self-starter showing initiative: experienced in working work independently and as part of a team.

Work with minimal supervision and provide excellent customer service.

Work experience with and knowledge of Baltimore City neighborhoods, government agencies/resources, and community development issues.

o Knowledge of Northwest Baltimore neighborhoods desirable; knowledge of Healthy Neighborhoods programs a plus.

Project a professional, job-appropriate image to external contacts, partners, and clients and provide exceptional customer service skills.

Perform related duties as required.


Knowledge/ REQUIREMENTS

Morning, evening, and weekend hours are required as determined by program needs as assigned.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of GO Northwest programs/services, including Healthy Neighborhoods programs within the first 30 days of employment

Operate office equipment and technology successfully, i.e., computer hardware and software systems, virtual systems (Zoom), copiers, faxes, phones, projector, and camera.

Must have a valid driver s license, insurance, and own and have available for use an operable motor vehicle.

Ability to lift and carry at least 20 lbs. Able to carry, set up/ break down equipment, materials, activities, and displays.

Possess basic math skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: commensurate with experience: health benefits include dental and vision, paid leave. $50,000-55,000.
