The Patient Service Associate welcomes patients to the department; completes continuous rounding on patients and families in the department and waiting area. You will communicate with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and clerical staff. You will also ensure basic non-clinical comfort needs of patients and families are met and serves as a liaison between various departments. Provides patients and families with comfort items to include: pillows, blankets, and magazines.Serves as a liaison between various departments.Collects data and maintains database of patient issues as directed by Manager.Other duties as assigned.Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Communication, Hospitality, Psychology, Sociology or related field preferred.Certifications: None requiredComplexity of Work:Requires strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively and efficiently with patients, families, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.Ability to empathize with patients and families undergoing physical, spiritual and emotional stress.Ability to synthesize and process large quantities of information rapidly.Work Experience: Must have a minimum of three years related experience reflecting a high level of conflict resolution in customer relations industry and/or evidence of exceptional customer service in current role for one year.Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing, walking and occasional lifting of items weighing in excess of 50 pounds.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
