The Operations Controller will be responsible for properly informing the business on key financial metrics and partnering with senior leaders and managers to advise on financial controls and operating performance strategies and execution. This position will provide expert financial analytics, guidance, and strategic support for all Foodservice operations and supply chain for America s business. This role will be an integral part of our Americas supply chain and operations team. The role will report to the VP of Finance of the MFT America business with dotted line reporting to the Sr. VP of Supply Chain and Operations. In essence, the second in command within Finance for the MFT America business.



This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. You can work the rest of the week wherever it suits you best. Expect to be able to travel up to 25% to our McAllen/Reynosa operations as needed.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related major is required; MBA preferred. CPA certification is required.
  • 10+ years of finance and business leadership experience, including audit experience with a nationally recognized public accounting firm, followed by experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
  • The successful candidate will be a skilled user of Excel and will have hands-on experience with general accounting software and corporate financial reporting systems (e.g., OneStream). A moderate level of proficiency in PowerPoint is needed. In addition, the candidate must possess the ability to be a self-starter and handle workload proactively, manage his/her time wisely, and manage multiple tasks during stringent month-end deadlines.

What You ll Do

  • Partners with the Supply Chain and operations team and the Finance team on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provides strategic recommendations based on financial analyses.
  • Oversees financial aspects of purchasing and supply chain strategy, supporting supply chain strategies to drive material cost savings and assuring proper purchasing controls of direct and indirect purchases across America.
  • Analyze current operating results and business operations in terms of costs, budgets, policies of the organization, and trends related to future business plans and increased profit opportunities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and supporting analyses (both defined and ad hoc), along with meaningful commentary to explain results to various levels within the organization. Ensures financial reporting requirements to corporate/sector/internal company deadlines and criteria are met.
  • Cooperates with the FP&A team to automate, standardize, and centralize management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with MFT s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley internal controls, and FCPA.
  • Ensures that financial and IT SOX documentation is maintained in a current manner. Coordinates and supports internal/external audits.
  • Oversee and modify for optimum efficiency and effectiveness the financial processes and supporting information systems of the Company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with MFT, local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that the company general ledger, fixed assets, payroll customer billing, accounts receivable and payable, inventory systems, and routines operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist in managing/measuring working capital and pricing changes.
  • Constantly maintain and drive a customer service mindset throughout teams; encourage cross-functional working relationships to enhance the delivery of the best possible service to internal and external users.
  • Properly disseminate appropriate financial data within MFT to aid corporate decision-making and planning.
  • Reports financial results, business risks, budgets, and business strategies effectively and timely to the company and its stakeholders and following Parent guidelines.
  • Interact with the management team to provide consultative support for business improvement initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Direct the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes.
  • Manage the relationship with outside auditors; direct the audit processes and ensure beneficial tax outcomes.

  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, controls, pricing, business analytics, reporting, and information technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing metrics and measurements to manage, control, and profitably grow businesses successfully.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating business controls (identification of control weaknesses) and implementing control improvements together with developing methods to monitor control compliance on an ongoing basis efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively and efficiently managing components of working capital.

  • Demonstrated evidence of having experience in continually identifying, assessing, and communicating risks and exposures within or faced by the business and having developed measures to mitigate such risks on a timely basis effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in continually reviewing and updating product costing information, ensuring that the product costs reflect actual cost, and understanding the importance of communicating customer and product profitability trends and information to the management team.
