McKinley Community Services is looking for Outreach Workers for our Diverse Learners Recovery Fund program. For more than 100 years, Ada S. McKinley Community Services has been delivering comprehensive social services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Our staff include a wide variety of professionals committed to empowering, employing, and educating people to change lives and strengthen communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic created prolonged periods of disruption in educational delivery that adversely affected all students and, particularly, for diverse learners who may have an identified disability or special learning need. In order to ensure equity for these students, the City of Chicago has created the Diverse Learners Recovery Fund to provide financial assistance to eligible students with disabilities. Ada S. McKinley Community Services has the responsibility for dispersing these funds through the Diverse Learners Recovery Fund program which provides outreach to eligible families and assistance with an application process to ensure all eligible families receive funds in a timely manner. For this reason, our organization is seeking to hire a team of Outreach Workers to conduct outreach actives to Chicago schools and communities to provide information and locate eligible applicants for the Diverse Learners Fund as well as providing hands-on customer service to facilitate application completion.

Hybrid Minimum of 1 day in office and 3 days in the field

Schedule: Must be willing to be flexible Primarily days - However may include some evenings & weekends

Salary: $36,000 - $40,000

Sign-on Bonus: $1,000

Supervises (Position Title): None

Main Duties

  • Assist with the planning of and implementation of outreach activities in a variety of schools and communities.
  • Disseminate outreach materials and communicate with school and community populations about the Diverse Learners Fund opportunity.
  • Provide individual assistance to all individuals in the understanding of and completion of the application process and attend to any necessary follow-up.
