**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POSITION:** Power Up Nutritionist

**REPORTS TO:** Power Up -Supervisor and/or Regional Manager

**RESPONSIBILITIES:** Power Up is a nutrition and physical activity education program funded through the USDA's SNAP-Education program. The goal of the national SNAP-Ed program is to improve the likelihood that persons eligible for SNAP will make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA food guidance. The Power Up Nutritionist will deliver nutrition and physical activity education along with PSE projects to a designated service area.

- Initiates and delivers nutrition education in all Interventions (K-12 Schools, Early Childhood, Community, Food Assistance and Food Retail) in the Power Up program.

- Ensures curricula is delivered as intended following Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) standards, program guidance, and USDA guidelines.

- Delivers engaging, interactive, and concise lessons with all interventions.

- Builds relationships with program partners to enhance program delivery and effectiveness.

- Maintains regular communication with program partners.

- In coordination with PSE Coordinators, develops an annual plan for PSE projects.

- Initiates, leads, and provides technical assistance on PSE projects based on customized annual plan.

- Trains partner staff on the integration of nutrition education into the classroom/educational spaces.

- Delivers indirect channels (food tastings, nutrition education reinforcement items, printed materials, etc.) as per the annual Statement of Work and ServSafe guidelines.

- Works in coordination with their supervisor to assist with day-to-day operations of the Power Up Nutrition Education Program.

- Completes all required documentation, data tracking, and data entry by determined deadlines .

- Provides high quality customer service and participant recruitment in coordination with other Adagio Health initiatives as appropriate .

- Collaborates with other Power Up offices to share ideas.

- Works/travels in any Nutrition Services offices as needed.

- Performs other duties as assigned

* Ability to work afterschool/weekend programs.

* Proficient in Microsoft Series.

**MINIMUM** **QUALIFICATIONS:**

* BS degree in nutrition/dietetics or BS in a related field and 2+ years of program experience.

* Must pass PA criminal background check, FBI clearances, and child abuse clearances.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to: develop, provide and evaluate nutrition education programming. Experience in children's nutrition education in a school setting and in public health are desirable.

* Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable car.

* Travel is required on a regular basis.

* All applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination upon hire.
