Portland nonprofit is looking for a cook with previous experience who is a dedicated & collaborative worker
Join a local nonprofit dedicated to providing resources for underserved communities, primarily serve people experiencing housing and food insecurity through a meal program. They have two commercial kitchens where hundreds of meals are prepared every day of the week to be delivered to shelters in the Portland metro area.
The current position we are looking for is an experienced prep cook who will assist mostly in prep duties and some cooking duties.
Availability requirements:
- Four 8 hour shifts per week with the possibility of covering a fifth
- 7am-3:30pm availability
- 9am-5:30pm availability
- Weekend availability
Job requirements & responsibilities:
- Prior cooking and/or kitchen experience
- Tidiness and good organization
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative environment
- Be respectful and patient with your coworkers
- Vaccinated for COVID
- Food Handlers Card
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive group of people
- Pass background check
Benefits:
- $20/hour for an "introductory" 2 month period, after which will go up to $22/hour.
