Job Details

Oscar de la Renta is hiring a Store Manager for our flagship boutique on Madison Avenue in New York City. This position reports to the Director of Stores, US and must have prior related store management experience with a luxury brand.

Responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the boutique as it relates to, but not limited to sales, operations and merchandising. Responsible for driving sales objectives, training and supporting associates to achieve sales goals and ensuring that the highest level of customer service is achieved at all times.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Developing, guiding and assisting sales staff in achieving and surpassing sales goals.
  • Dedicated to driving the business and maximizing sales results, through the highest level of customer service
  • Insure the highest standards of client service are maintained at all times
  • Insure all merchandise is handled appropriately and inventory is accounted for and monitored
  • Insure that all company policies, procedures and directives are enforced consistently and effective.
  • Seek out new ways to increase business
  • Insure all sales related policies and procedures are maintained inclusive of hold tickets, consignments, etc.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise, train sales staff on product knowledge.
  • Must understand the themes of each collection and merchandise in order to convey these themes to staff and clients
  • Insure the selling floor is neat, clean, organized and reflects the correct visual image at all times
  • Insure displays, fixtures and all visual areas are maintained
  • Monitor inventory to control shrinkage, ticketing, sensors, and proper/organized storage
  • Oversee execution of stock rotations in a timely and effective manner
  • Communicate stock level needs in order to support the business goal
  • Monitor the movement of all inventory and insure proper shipment
  • Insure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and duties towards inventory
  • Reconcile all inventory discrepancies in a timely and effective manner
  • Insure all Human Resources paperwork is processed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Insure all associates in the department are aware of and abide by all Human Resources policies and procedure
  • Collaborate with and support Finance/HR department in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication and L/P audits
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to Loss/Prevention and adheres by all policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with and support Alterations department in all areas of quality control, inter-store communication, policies/procedures and alterations related paperwork inclusive of alterations tickets
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to Alterations and adheres by all policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with and support the Point-of-Sale staff in all areas of register procedure, protocol and policies
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to Point-of-Sales and adheres to all policies and procedures
  • Insure staff is trained in all areas of appropriate register/customer profile/style locator use and maintenance
  • Understand and properly execute all management register functions, inclusive of opening and closing procedures
  • Responsible for supporting the areas of stock, shipping, receiving and protocol and related paperwork such as transfer requests, delivery requests, charge/send requests, merchandise receipts, bag labels, etc."

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related retail management experience
  • Luxury retail environment strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Highly organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Store operations background a must
