Job Purpose

You will be leading a group of control systems engineers to develop solutions for controller applications within Dana and for external customers. The team is responsible for developing control algorithms & software for a variety of Dana & customer systems, including: Vehicle and Powertrain Control Units, Transmission Control Units, Charging Communication Units, and any potential customer project applications. Working within a Model-Based Development environment, this includes all activities along the Systems Engineering V-Model, from requirements to design & implementation, integration & validation.

Your workplace will be very dynamic, fast-paced and will include many different tasks, from the development of control algorithms to supporting embedded software engineers, right through to assisting vehicle-level commissioning. You can expect to learn everything about the architecture of electric vehicles and experience first-hand the integration and start-up of the systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the technical team responsible for control system application software development
Prioritize and assign work across team members
Support the Business Development team as the Engineering representative to customers
Ensure adherence to industry standards, such as ISO-26262, ISO-21434, and ASPICE
Design and develop control algorithms for electric vehicle systems using model-based software.
Create control documentation, software requirements & implement them into the controllers
Develop system test plans and & HiL test procedures
Participate in and evolve Dana's global development practices at a system level
Collaborate and effectively communicate across multiple disciplines and teams in systems, software, electronic hardware, and mechanical topics.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Control Systems or related field required
7 years of experience in vehicle controls development and electrification
3 years of experience in a leadership position
Experience in the automotive industry; focus on control engineering
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels across the organization
Multicore software development or system design experience in automotive (preferred)
AGILE/SAFe development experience (preferred)
Control related training or certifications (preferred)
Experience developing products following ISO-26262 requirements, from design through production

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong MATLAB and Simulink knowledge
Strong knowledge of control theory and control system architectures
Experience developing control system applications on prototype embedded controllers (e.g. OpenECU)
Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
Ability to multi-task effectively on projects and assignments
Ability to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines and goals
A team player, who is both flexible and creative in their approach to problem-solving
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
