SCRIPT Biosciences is developing next generation CRISPR-based gene editing platforms to devise safe, efficient, and durable treatments for human disease. SCRIPT was co-founded by leading academic scientists from New York University (NYU), and is led by seasoned pharmaceutical industry leaders. In close consultation with a world-class Scientific Advisory Board that comprises a Nobel Laureate and a National Academy of Medicine member. SCRIPT is building an exciting pipeline of gene therapies based on our proprietary CNS- and Pancreas-targeted Lipid Nano Particle (LNP) platform and the CasPlus gene editing technology. Our mission is to develop permanent cures or prevent progression of debilitating (and sometimes fatal) disorders through efficient and safe editing of the genome.


The Location..

The SCRIPT Research Laboratory is located at B-labs on Market Street in Philadelphia. We are situated in a city that is rapidly growing into the leading worldwide biotech hub for cell and gene therapy, and hence appropriately dubbed Cellicon Valley . In the heart of the New Jersey-Pennsylvania-Delaware Pharma corridor, our location in Philadelphia not only affords proximity to world-class academic and industrial research institutions, but also has one of the most vibrant artistic and culinary scenes to be found anywhere.


The Role

A Research Associate to support our therapeutic gene therapy discovery efforts using our proprietary CNS-targeted LNP platform and the CasPlus gene editing system, while also helping the team manage the laboratory. We seek candidates who are motivated and flexible, especially with adopting new technologies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with iPSCs or gene therapy or LNP-based delivery approaches. Knowledge of iPSC handling and neuronal differentiation is a plus. In this laboratory-based role, the individual will be part of a high-performance team of bench scientists tasked with developing and expanding our robust pipeline. Responsibilities:

  • Support development, validation, and routine implementation of Script s platform technologies in support of new diseases/targets
  • Manage laboratory operations including but not restricted to inventory of reagents and supplies, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations
  • Tissue culture of a variety of mammalian cell types, especially iPSCs
  • Manage multiple research projects either individually or in a collaborative manner
  • Maintain meticulous experimental records
  • Prepare formal oral and written reports as required


Qualifications for Consideration Are

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree with 0-5 years years work experience in gene therapy, LNP delivery, or iPSC culture
  • Experience in neuronal cell differentiation from iPSCs a big plus.
  • Prior experience in any of the following is preferred: molecular cloning, DNA sequencing, PCR, Western analysis, flow cytometry, and cell based assays
  • Proficiency with contemporary data analysis and data management software
  • Proven laboratory and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function effectively on interdisciplinary drug discovery teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well and flexibly in a team environment (especially in a dynamic situation typical of a small startup)
