Social Media & Digital Content Specialist


Job Details

This position is responsible for planning, producing, and publishing content designed to increase engagement across the University s primary digital and social media platforms. This position applies creativity and storytelling skills to help tell the University s story and advance key brand messages.

This position is required to work on campus.

Plan, create, and post original, engaging, and branded content across all official university social media platforms;Coordinate day-to-day activities including planning, creating, and scheduling relevant and engaging content, writing copy to ensure proper responsive action taken by viewership, capturing photos and videos, and developing paid ad campaigns;Monitor social channels for community engagement and conversation opportunities, and respond appropriately to follower comments and messages;Track, analyze, and report social media metrics to determine effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven content decisions;Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to coordinate university-wide content consistency, and provide strategic social media counsel to internal stakeholders to optimize promotional opportunities across the institution;Work collaboratively with vendors and university partners to ensure efficacy of new and existing marketing campaigns as they pertain to university social media presence;Continuously develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with university enrollment goals and strategic plans;Follow social media best practices, and stay up-to-date on social media trends, tools, channels, design, and strategies;Develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives to assist in meeting seasonal enrollment goals;Plan, produce, and publish content that promotes the brand and drives engagement on digital platforms, including the university website;Shoot and edit photographs and videos, as needed with the support of our campus production team;Develop effective promotional materials for university events;Develop and optimize existing social media platform strategies, including establishing new presences on emerging platforms and invigoration around current opportunities;Communicate professionally and consistently with the campus community and prospective students as it pertains to the department s role in developing the University s digital presence;Perform all other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:Assist in various marketing and communication projects to support the department and university priorities.

Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism, English, or a closely-related field is required;Minimum of one year of experience in journalism, digital communication, marketing, social media, or a related field is required;Photography and video-editing/storytelling experience is required;Expert knowledge of social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. is required.Applicants must upload a cover letter and resume at the time of application as well as provide contact information for at least three professional references.
