The Regional Operations Manager plays an essential role in growing the business, continually improving profitability, and driving operating efficiencies. This position requires a customer service-oriented individual to handle and manage a variety of responsibilities within the branch locations in the assigned region. This involves working collaboratively with the branch/store managers within the region. The region includes locations across the states of North and South Carolina. Must be willing to travel approximately 2 weeks/month and flex more/less as business needs arise/decline.



AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

  1. Human Resource Management
  • Hire, develop, retain, motivate, coach and direct the activities of Branch/Store Managers.
  • Utilize management systems and tools to maximize support staff productivity.
  • Coach Branch/Store Managers and actively participate in the hiring and termination process.
  1. Financial Management
  • With the Regional Sales Managers, take full responsibility for the profitability, growth and return on assets of stores within the area.
  • Monitor the Region s profitability by reviewing monthly profit and loss statements.
  1. Operations Management
  • Regularly visit each of the locations within the Area to monitor and support operations personnel.
  • In conjunction with the Divisional Operations Manager, develop and implement processes to improve operation efficiency/effectiveness and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Work with store managers to oversee and properly maintain the region s inventory levels and truck delivery fleet.
  • Maintain expert level of product and service knowledge and coach staff appropriately in product and service-related issues.
  1. Sales Support
  • Monitor and manage inside sales efforts including tele-sales calls to house accounts.
  • Accompany Sales personnel on account calls to the Region s key customers and participate in related sales meetings.
  • Work closely with the Sales personnel to contribute to sales and marketing strategies within the Region.
  1. Other managerial, administrative or customer support activities as requested or required.


KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience with proven track record of successfully servicing customer accounts
  • Three or more years of management experience
  • Experience in same or similar industry highly desired
  • Outstanding leadership and coaching skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel including customers
  • Able to maintain poise in conflict situations
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate company s business marketplace and value proposition
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to travel throughout the region on a regular basis
