IT Support Technician

An IT Support Technician for Nexus Technology Partners is focused on supporting our small- to medium-sized business customers in northeast Indiana. In this role, you will not only identify technological solutions that will add to our customers' productivity, but you will also implement those solutions. We are looking for candidates with customer-oriented consulting and technical support skills, as well as a strong desire to make technology work for people.

Primary roles are to provide end-user technical support, solution implementation and delivery, and ongoing support for customer technology needs. The individual is a billable resource. Documentation skills and time management are critical to this role.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday, Onsite

Pay: Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop computer and network-related problems
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients
  • Perform analysis of IT needs and customer locations
  • Identity technology solutions based on analysis of client needs
  • Implement network and IT infrastructure-related projects for our clients
  • Document work performed and other technical information for our clients
Requirements:
  • College degree in an IT-related or business-related field
  • 1-3 years of IT-related experience
  • Strong desire to continuously learn about IT and problem-solving solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (approx. 50 pounds)
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders
  • Sit, stand, squat, walk, climb, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, write
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions
Desired Candidate Attributes:
  • End-user and help desk experience with the MS Office Suite and other common desktop applications
  • Basic knowledge of server-related technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V
  • Basic knowledge of and/or experience with Linux, Apache, MariaDB, and PHP
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and computer networking
  • One or more Google Coursera IT-related certificates and desire to pursue additional certifications
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCSA: Windows, CompTIA Securtiy+, MCSE, CompTIA Network+
  • VoIP phone systems and SIP Trunks
  • IP security camera systems
