Overview

The Epic Cogito Analyst for will leverages Epic data and tools to provide reliable information and analysis to drive our clinical pathways program forward. They will work to provide agile and innovative solution in creating validated patient population and visualization to ensure we are providing best outcomes to our patients. Strong understanding of clinical data, SQL and Certification in Cogito and Clinical Data Model required.


Responsibilities

The Senior Epic Cogito Analyst will work collaboratively with clinicians and business units to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and to promote system enhancements and integration of clinical information systems and workflows. This role requires well-developed communication, analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills leveraging both logic and creativity. SYSTEM DESIGN

  • Understand and translate the business functionality into Clinical Information System configuration and workflow validations.
  • Suggest design alternatives and make appropriate design decisions.
  • Design, configure and validate new or modified functionality.
  • Understand appropriate application of Population Health tools and strategies.

DATA, ANALYTICS AND REPORTING

  • Assists with analysis of external data definitions documentation and mapping process.
  • Knowledge of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support data mapping identification.
  • Responsible for analyzing and mapping medical, laboratory and any other health-related data in compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of dashboard development including concept design and build.
  • Working knowledge of database management, report validation methods and data aggregation strategies.

CONSULTATION

  • Maintain client relationships by ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues and communicate recommendations for system modifications and enhancements to the appropriate teams.
  • Understand appropriate use of technology to optimize care delivery process and assist care providers to create and record the evidence of their practice within the Electronic Health record.
  • Work with leadership to create detailed application designs that conform to application guidelines.



Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • A clinical background in any discipline is highly desired. Nursing or Pediatric experience preferred. An operational background in Health Information Technology or Revenue Cycle Management desired for the non-clinical applicants.
  • Experience interacting with clinical or business areas to gather and understand workflow and technical requirements.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required. Clinical Licensure and/or other certifications preferred.
  • Epic certification required in at least one Core Application, additional certifications desired.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Strong skills in use of PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support and overnight travel.


MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
