Job Description
Tessenderlo Kerley is a leader in driving innovation and excellence within the chemical industry. As a Raw Materials Buyer, you will ensure our plants have the essential materials required to maintain seamless operations. This pivotal role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize purchasing processes and systems, and identify improvement opportunities that drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities to align with production targets and ensure a steady supply of raw materials.
- Provide rolling forecasts to suppliers and track price variations based on contractual indices.
- Maintain optimal stock levels in collaboration with plant managers to minimize disruptions and manage inventory efficiently.
- Lead initiatives for supplier relationship management, including contract reviews and negotiating favorable terms.
- Engage with internal stakeholders across all levels to align procurement activities with broader company strategies.
- Conduct market assessments, manage requests for proposals, and perform risk evaluations to support strategic procurement decisions.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economicsor related fields.
- At least fiveyears of relevant experience as a buyer in the agriculture (AG) or oil and gas (O&G) industries.
- Proven capability in sourcing, contractingand managing post-award procurement processes.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence key business decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPointand Word.
- Agile and collaborative team player capable of interfacing effectively with suppliers and multiple internal teams.
