Job Summary:
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
* Maintains clean work area.
* Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
* Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
* Performs routine maintenance in accordance with schedules determined by supervisor.
* Acquires and maintains a full complement of personal tools as necessary to perform general repair and service work.
* Provides technical assistance to plant supervisory personnel as related to employee orientation and training and/or training activities.
* Immediately responds to every breakdown to ensure machinery is up and running.
* Must be proactive, detect minor problems and correct them before they become major problems.
* Locates areas in need of repair, determines necessary repairs and performs work as appropriate or reports problem to supervisor.
* Must maintain a neat and clean work area, and have a good turnover with production staff.
* Identifies any safety discrepancies and take immediate action.
* Utilizes plant CMMMS system to open and close work orders and track routine maintenance.
* Assists with inventory stock and notify maintenance lead when inventory is low.

* Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
* Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
* Ability to read and write comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
* Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
* Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.
* Ability to read and comprehend an electrical blueprint.
* Ability to troubleshoot live electrical.
* Ability to read and comprehend machine blueprint.
* Ability to effectively troubleshoot machines to keep down time to a minimum.
Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years prior experience involving general plant maintenance work involving both electrical and mechanical systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
