Temporary Heating Plant Operator

This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.

NDSU FACILITIES MANAGEMENT - HEATING PLANT has openings for temporary employees in the heating plant.

Description & Details:

  • Unloading coal from train cars
  • Pulling ash on industrial boilers
  • Blowing soot on coal boilers
  • Shop work, assisting operator or mechanic
  • Hauling and stockpiling coal
  • Operating front end loader
  • Assist the Lead operator with the shift duties required to operate the Heating Plant.
  • Assist with cleaning the plant and coal unloading area/ including scraping, shoveling, sweeping/washing floors, and accomplish all other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

  • Rotating Shifts and night and weekend work involved.

Advertised Pay

  • $23.00/hr

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous work experience, if any
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 yrs old or older
  • Resume not required but encouraged
  • Ability to operate equipment including front end loader
  • Ability to work flexible shift schedule including nights and weekends
