Description

Position Summary:

Gresser Companies, Inc is seeking an Accounting clerk to join our accounting team in Shakopee, MN. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable and will work closely with the CFO and Payroll/HR department. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, display high attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a causal workplace environment while maintaining a high work ethic.

Core Duties:

  • Scan vendor invoices into document management system
  • Code, review, and post all vendor invoices as well as confirm approval of invoices
  • Select invoices to be paid on a regular schedule
  • Invoice and payment filing
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Lien Waiver maintenance
  • Deposit customer checks and post to accounts receivable
  • Prepare billings for customers
  • Support accounting department with various components of monthly and year-end operations


Other:
  • Answer the main phone line and direct incoming calls
  • Facilitate all vendor inquiries including payment status
  • Maintain vendor records including collecting W-9s
  • Assist with collections
  • Sales and Usage Tax tracking and monthly returns
  • Sort and deliver mail
  • Execute special accounting projects on a need basis
  • Backup to payroll

Requirements

  • 3+ years' work experience in construction accounting preferred
  • Experience with AIA documents preferred
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • High attention to detail with solid record keeping
  • Ability to multitask while managing a high-volume workload
  • Able to work independently as well as collaborate with the accounting department
