Job Description:
As an Accounting professional you will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, financial reporting, and accounting activities related to our property management operations. This role will require expertise in tax regulations, accounting principles, and proficiency in using Quickbooks/ Intuit.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file property tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to proactively identify opportunities for tax savings and risks.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for our property management portfolio.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify areas of improvement and efficiency in our property management operations.
Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Manage financial records and general ledger entries for our property management entities.
- Reconcile accounts, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure proper categorization of expenses and income.
Quickbooks/ Intuit Expertise:
- Utilize Quickbooks to manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Train and assist team members in the use of Quickbooks for day-to-day financial operations.
Audit Support:
- Assist in the coordination of financial audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
- Address audit inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with property management teams, accountants, and external tax consultants to ensure financial and tax objectives are met.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members and assist with their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations related to property management and real estate.
- Proficiency in using Quickbooks/ Intuit or similar accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
