ABOUT THE JOB

EHS Regional Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an industry leading safety culture that drives continuous improvement in areas of Environmental Safety and Health based on federal, state, and company regulatory requirements. This individual is responsible for developing, establishing, and maintaining all Environmental Safety and Health programs. This role provides information, support, training and direction to all employees regarding work place health and safety.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop and maintain environmental, health and safety policies and programs, keeping job hazard analyst documentation and implement ideas.
  • Works with all levels of Leadership and Employees across US to identify and evaluate environmental, health and safety hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace as makes recommendations regarding Safety Citations and corrective actions.
  • Coordinates the implementation of controls from the results of environmental, health and safety audits.
  • Is the main point of contact for all environmental, health and safety related accidents/incidents, calls, concerns, projects and initiatives across of US region.
  • Takes initiative by making recommendations directly to the Leadership Team to prevent future environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret all health and safety misses including OSHA recordable accidents, loss and exposure data.
  • Works with Operations/Production Supervisors and HR on environmental, health and safety incidents insuring that all reports and medical decisions are correctly made.
  • Communicates with the HR Team to ensure facility alignment with Company policies, procedures and OSHA regulations and other State and Federal compliance regulations.
  • Provide training, direction, leadership to the environmental, health and safety Committee.
  • Conducts and coordinates on-site inspections of physical conditions and safe work practices and behaviors, audits and communicates audit findings/results to CEO and leadership on the region.
  • Schedules and coordinates facility evacuations and develops action plans to address opportunities such as maping fire escape exits, active shooters, etc.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Yes within US region.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • CPR/BLS Certification Preferred.
  • Solid knowledgement on Hazardous waste operations and emergency response.

SKILLS:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace dynamic environment with tight deadlines a must.
  • Computer literacy at high level to include Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint , etc.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Able to successfully work in a diverse and multicultural environment with a family-owned business culture.
  • Strong ability to manage stress and strict deadlines and to work under pressure.
  • Able to communicate across all levels, from shop floor associates to members of the executive team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
  • Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push or pull.
  • Ability to lift/carry items less than 30 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, with business core hours of Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. As an exempt employee, you will be required to work additional hours to support business demands.
