Exciting Opportunity: Business Development Manager Small Molecule, US East Coast

Join a dynamic team at a rapidly expanding pharmaceutical process research company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. I am on the lookout for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead growth in the US East Coast market, particularly focusing on small molecule development. Reporting to the Head of Small Molecule Business, you'll play a vital role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to expand our small molecule process research services across the US East Coast. This includes identifying and prioritising key market segments, assessing competitive landscapes, and leveraging industry trends to drive growth opportunities.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closing deals. Utilize a consultative selling approach to understand client needs, tailor solutions, and negotiate contracts. Drive sales performance by establishing and achieving ambitious targets, while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Market Insights: Serve as a key conduit between clients and internal teams, providing valuable market feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies. Stay abreast of industry developments, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes to anticipate market needs and opportunities.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Act as a passionate advocate for our brand, positioning our unique services as industry-leading solutions. Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical and biotech executives, to enhance brand visibility and credibility. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to showcase our capabilities and thought leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Proven track record of 5+ years in business development or sales roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on small molecule development.
  • CMO or CDMO experience is a must.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process, including technical knowledge of small molecule chemistry and bioprocess engineering.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and analytically to drive business growth.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
