We are seeking a Manager, Finance and Accounting, to help us achieve our business objectives.

In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer to develop and implement financial strategies throughout the organization. You will be responsible primarily for coordinating the preparation of the annual business plan and budget and monitoring and spending against that budget. Other responsibilities include providing financial expertise and distributing financial information and trends to management and external stakeholders. You will oversee all financial compliance and reporting to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), as well as other governmental agencies.

You will-

  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions, including accounts payable and receivable, cash management, fixed assets, month-end close, and payroll.
  • Supervise and mentor the company's finance and accounting team.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for FERC, NERC, the WECC Board of Directors, the Finance and Audit Committee (FAC), the executive team, and others.
  • Own all areas of financial reporting with a focus on annual budget preparation, monthly monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Investigate budget variances with department managers.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the financial data and perform analysis to identify trends and verify accuracy.
  • Provide training and support across the organization in all areas of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement internal controls.
  • Prepare internal and external reporting packages.
  • Collect data for and oversee issuance of annual assessment invoices.
  • Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit organizations.
  • Coordinate external audits and proper filing of tax returns in all required jurisdictions.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks, projects, and reporting as required.

You will enjoy this role if you-

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or an equivalent combination of education and related industry experience resulting in a demonstrated ability to perform the major duties.
  • Have a minimum of seven years of related experience in corporate or not-for-profit accounting in progressively responsible roles.
  • Have a minimum of three years managing an accounting team.
  • Possess strong management and leadership skills with an ability to work well in all levels of an organization.
  • Have extensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial report design.
  • Are highly adaptable to and embrace change.
  • Thrive in an autonomous and deadline-driven workplace.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Understand and can manage the confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Are a Certified Public Accountant.
  • Are very familiar with U.S. GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Have excellent presentation, written, and spoken communication skills that include the ability to communicate sensitive, confidential, or complex information.
  • Are extremely organized, proactive, and can adapt to and lead through change.
  • Have excellent computer skills, including Excel and other software applications. Experience with HCM and ERP solutions, such as UKG or Sage Intacct, is a plus.
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $92,186-$122,915 + discretionary pay + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and mid-point for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
