Purpose of Position:

The Regional Human Resources (HR) Manager will assist the Regional Director of Operations new hire onboarding, internal training programs, employee relations, reporting and analytics, and various administrative tasks. This role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of HR best practices to drive employee engagement, talent development, and compliance within the organization. They will demonstrate conflict management, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.This position will be comfortable managing complex employee related issues, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.


This position will support our Midwest and East Coast stores and needs to be located relatively close to one of our stores in NY, FL, PA, WI, MN, NC, SC or VA.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • closely with field teams to develop recruitment strategies for attracting top talent in diverse and support staffing for hard-to-fill locations.
  • and understand talent at all levels and recommend and implement succession and development strategies.
  • and propose solutions to address local retention challenges in collaboration with operations leadership.
  • new hire orientations, background checks, and update new hire records.

HR Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • with operations leadership to align HR initiatives with organizational goals and priorities
  • closely with the Regional Director and the corporate team to further enhance culture, values, people programs, and overall employee experience.
  • and maintain effective relationships to influence leaders and provide effective guidance and support to drive business success
  • and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Oversee employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, grievance resolutions and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention across multiple locations.
  • Partner with regional leaders to address employee concerns and foster a positive work environment.
  • Investigate employee relations issues and advise leadership on best practices.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide advice in real-time situations to key stakeholders.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop programs to address skill gaps and support career development and then monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and make adjustments as needed
  • Coach supervisors and managers on the creation and follow-through of impactful development plans and discussions for their associates, including disciplinary action, employee coaching, conflict resolutions, and terminations.


Compliance and Legal:

  • Ensuring legal compliance with various laws and regulations covering areas such as EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, workers compensation, etc.
  • Must demonstrate a mastery of the state-specific employment laws for the state within the region to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in audits as required.
  • Develop organizational guidelines and procedures to streamline operations and improve consistency.

Partner with legal counsel to address HR-related legal matters and mitigate risks.

HR Operations and Administration:

  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Manage employee records in the HRIS.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement with information gained from the onboarding program, exit interviews, associate feedback, etc.
  • Produce, analyze and remit reports on general HR activity.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience in administering human resources policies, programs and practices: including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in HR, Organizational Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a similar is preferred
  • Prior multi-location/multi-state experience, preferably in a retail environment.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a Human Resources role with increased responsibilities
  • Extensive experience in human resources management, with a focus on retail management
  • relations experience preferred
  • in legal compliance with various laws and regulations covering areas such as EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, workers compensation, etc.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Travel Requirements:

  • position requires travel, up to 50%
  • candidate must have the ability to work from home when not traveling (must have a home office at their residence.
