We are seeking an Operations Network Engineer to join our team. As an Operations Network Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that supports the operations and maintenance of the Pegasus system, a high-performance information sharing platform between the DoD and its FVEY coalition partners. This is an onsite position at Fort Meade, MD.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Pegasus system hardware, software, and network components
- Monitoring and optimizing the system performance, availability, and security
- Providing technical support and guidance to end users and stakeholders
- Documenting and updating the system configuration, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborating with other engineers, analysts, and contractors to ensure the system meets the operational requirements and standards
CLEARANCE: REQUIRED SKILLS: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering
- Must be a Cisco Network Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and network security protocols and tools
- Experience working with Juniper Networks network technologies or certified
- Experience with Linux, Windows, and VMware operating systems and virtualization technologies
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
PREFERRED SKILLS: - Master's degree in network engineering or related field
- Experience with DoD networks at the unclassified and classified levels
- Experience with high-performance computing systems and architectures
- Experience with data storage and backup solutions
- Experience with Splunk, Nagios, or other monitoring and logging tools
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or other automation and configuration management tools
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Certifications such as CCNP, Security+, or CISSP
