Lead Fire Protection Designer or Engineer

A fire protection designer or engineer uses HydraCAD to prepare layouts of sprinkler systems, detail drawings & diagrams. Details prepared by designer include all views and dimensions necessary for the installation of a code compliant fire protection system. Individuals should be able to make decisions and problem solve with project managers/field team. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability require for this position:
Responsibilities:
Prepares code-compliant fire protection drawings for AHJ approval and installation
Manage a design team of 2-4 individuals
Coordinates with other trades
Visits job sites to survey conditions and improve design
Preforms hydraulic calculations
Produces stock list for material required throughout job progression
Creates project submittal packages for owner/architect review
Attends pertinent construction meetings during progress of project
Develops positive relationships with coworkers and customers
Qualifications:
NICET Level III or IV in Water Based System Layout or Fire Protection Engineering Degree
RMS (Responsible Managing Supervisor) license
Proficient understanding of NFPA 13 & related codes
Thorough knowledge of HydraCAD programs
Ability to perform work in a timely and proficient manner
Detail-oriented and organized
Strong communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8hr day shifts, Monday-Friday
Salary: $32-$75 per hour (based on ability, experience, and licensure)
