Project Description: Nurix was founded by internationally recognized experts in the ubiquitin-proteasome (UPS) field and recently entered into a collaboration with Seagen/Pfizer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of research activities in the Discovery Biology group, including but not limited to assay development to determine degrader potency and functional downstream effects utilizing various assay formats.

Internship Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Intern. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of biotechnology, including research and development, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and more. The intern will work closely with our team of scientists and researchers to contribute to ongoing projects and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in the field.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with laboratory experiments and procedures under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Learn aseptic cell culture procedures and maintain multiple cell lines required for two programs run at Nurix.
  • Perform cell viability assays with multiple cell lines for two collaboration programs.
  • Perform platelet toxicity assays.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation using relevant software such as FlowJo, D300, Compass for SW and GraphPad Prism.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas, share findings, and contribute to project discussions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in the laboratory environment.


Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Strong academic background with coursework in biology such as molecular biology, immunology and biochemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques such as pipetting (single and multi-channel pipettes), aseptic cell culture experience with western blot and ELISA is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to innovative research projects in biotechnology.
