METROPOLITAN TRANSIT SYSTEM - DUTIES:Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical difficulties on City buses, automobiles, trucks, and a variety of diesel and gasoline powered maintenance vehicles. Will repair the following; electrical systems components, ignition systems, computers, alternators, generators, starters, batteries, hydraulic systems and high pressure air systems. Maintain shop equipment and will assist in the purchasing of equipment parts and materials. Will maintain records and assist other mechanics in the performance of mechanical repairs as required. Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air-brake and passenger endorsements. Possession of or ability to obtain journey level certification in equipment repair. Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, airbrake systems, high pressure air and water systems and hydraulic systems.
