Job Details

As a Survey CAD Tech, your responsibilities include utilizing your expertise in units, datums, and conversions to create accurate survey deliverables. You will prepare boundary survey layouts, site plans, route surveys, and As-builts using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS concepts. Additionally, you will analyze and process survey data, including conventional and GPS techniques, and work with LIDAR data for adjustment, refinement, and 3D modeling. Attention to detail is crucial for critical analysis of design plans, quality control of survey deliverables, and generating reports. Collaboration with field personnel, surveyors, crew chiefs, clients, and stakeholders is essential. You will also handle tasks like public records research, project setups, data computations, and property divisions efficiently.

**This role is compensating between $25-30$/hour depending on experience. This role will allow for a hybrid work schedule after successful orientation.**

Responsibilities of the Survey CAD Technician:

  • Utilize your expertise to its fullest potential by applying your knowledge of units, datums, and conversions to create accurate survey deliverables.
  • Prepare boundary survey layouts, site plans, route surveys, and As-builts using your proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS concepts.
  • Analyze and process survey data, including conventional and GPS techniques, while working with LIDAR (point cloud) data for adjustment, refinement, and 3D modeling.
  • Perform critical analysis of design plans, ensure quality control of survey deliverables, and generate reports such as volume surface calculations and map checks.
  • Collaboration is Key: Interact daily with field personnel, acquiring notes and data, and maintain communication with surveyors, crew chiefs, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Embrace the Challenges: Tackle public records research, project setups, data computations, and assist with property divisions, demonstrating your ability to handle diverse tasks efficiently.


Requirements of the Survey CAD Technician:

  • High School Diploma required. Associates degree in Surveying preferred, showcasing your dedication to the field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an in-office survey technician, demonstrating your expertise in survey production with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in using relevant software platforms such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational aptitude, ability to follow detailed instructions accurately, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Trimble Access software is a plus, highlighting your versatility in utilizing industry-standard tools.
  • Knowledge of Florida Standards of Practice and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys' Minimum Standard Detail Requirements is advantageous.
