Individual is responsible for providing case management services to families where child abuse, neglect and/or dependency have taken place or is taking place. Individual works directly under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor. Individual reports to the Social Services Supervisor.
Job Standards

Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Services, Early Childhood Development Technology or education in a Social Services or a related field. Must have 101 hours of CORE training within the first year of employment and continuing education of 36 hours per year required thereafter.
Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and acceptable driving record. Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on county business as a continued condition of employment. All required licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Essential Functions

  • Prepares, and coordinates Kinship home studies aimed at reunifying and/or maintaining families;
  • Assists Social Services Worker III with selected court hearings, transportation and linkage to services;
  • Provides assistance with implementation of case plans and case management services to children and families for the purpose of achieving case plan goals.
  • Acts as a liaison between the agency and families;
  • In conjunction with a Social Service Worker III, assists in removing individuals from their homes when the investigation reveals that the individuals are in immediate danger of physical injury, emotional harm, or neglect;
  • Provides assistance and consultation regarding the completion of necessary paperwork;
  • Assists in conducting Intake and Investigation reports of child abuse, neglect and dependency. and participates in defining, establishing and implementing individual treatment goals and plans;
  • Assists in crisis intervention and other case management services to individuals;
  • Creates and maintains case records that contain necessary documentation of the investigation, related activities, and State required documentation;
  • Works with other public and private agencies in obtaining and providing necessary information concerning referrals;
  • Devises correspondence, completing forms and developing reports;
  • Attends trainings as required;
  • Assists in facilitating quarterly foster program training/recruitment and independent living classes;
  • Determines social service program eligibility and re-determines eligibility for various social service programs including but not limited to the kinship program and Independent living incentives;
  • Works with other public and private agencies in obtaining and providing necessary referral information and verifies program eligibility;
  • Administers drug tests for identified clients upon supervisor request;
  • Maintains filing room, scanning, and related duties as assigned;
  • Supervises assigned visitations and provides transportation as required;
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance;
  • Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops;
  • Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required;
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor; and
  • All functions listed may not cover all duties that are required to be performed.
