Job Details

MAU is hiring a Material Handling Superintendent at our client in Charleston, SC. As a Material Handling Superintendent, you will utilize the company culture to build up and lead the Plant Material Handling team to execute in-plant logistic operations and processes. You will also ensure the achievement of required project and business targets timely and financially in coordination and alignment with all effected partners. This is a direct-hire opportunity.


Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor s degree; OR
  • 5 8+ years of experience in a senior logistics leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing industry, in a similar role

Essential Functions:


  • Act as a member of the Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Leadership team
  • Manage, drive, and follow-up on the development of the Material Handling team
  • Ensure the team develops to required competence levels within the organization through effective leadership
  • Assure the function s deliverables for quality, cost, delivery, and improvement
  • Ensure team s active participation in cross-functional workgroups together with central MP&L
  • Lead development and continuous improvement of systems and processes within Logistics by developing standard work instructions
  • Follow up on personal KPIs and team KPIs by performing the tasks as described above to reach the organizational goals and objectives
  • Lead the execution of in-plant logistics flow to support long-term production strategy in plant
  • Implement and optimize required logistics concepts in-line with production requirements (timing/cost) with dynamic assumptions
  • Steer structural, financial, and manpower requirements to meet defined processes
  • Adhere to logistics project timelines and resource allocations
  • Lead team in supporting processes (IT, quality, logistics, etc.) to ensure alignment of the overall production concept
  • Create proposals and ensure the approval of necessary funding in the management meetings and circles
  • Ensure that all related budget and investment metrics are met
  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of in-plant logistics processes in connection with the company s standards
  • Responsible for future model launches within Material Handling
  • Coordinate workshop activities through the planning with supervisors to ensure the total logistic objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Provide leadership in implementation of 5S programs
  • Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors
  • Responsible for performance of activities connected to Year over Year efficiencies
  • Ensure the implementation of and adherence to the Manufacturing System within the entire area of responsibility
  • Work towards an excellent relationship within the organization and with other units worldwide
  • Foster standardized work through QPS and daily coaching activities
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances
