General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Employment and Training, responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the centralized accounting system. The Accountant is responsible for developing internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for all accounting activities including, but not limited to, budget administration and cash management. These duties must be accomplished while ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations and guidelines, as well as generally accepted accounting principles regarding fiscal procedures and audit trails. Directs all staff working in fiscal. Oversees functional duties to develop and maintain accounting procedures, departmental budgets, requests for preproposals purchasing, inventory, and monitoring.

Employment Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.

Experience: Two or more years of professional accounting experience in a fund accounting system, which included experience with grant preparation, budget preparation, payroll, and accounts payable. Use in database applications including office suite of software for MS Excel and Word required. Data processing experience is required. Experience with Federal and State grant-funded programs is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's License. C.P.A. is a plus, but not required.
