100% ONSITE - 12 month contract position in Pontiac, Michigan. Potential for extension/conversion.


Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00am - 4:30pm


Job Description:

Work Arrangement:

On site: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to our Pontiac Engineering Center, Building E.

The Role:

We are searching for a self-motivated individual to fill the role of Prototype and Pre-Production Electric Motors Technician. In this position, you will be responsible the construction of prototype and pre-production electric motors for product and process validation and development. Additionally, you will participate in BPD, GMS and on-site training programs. What You ll Do:

Participate in BPD/GMS process, to meet strategic plans.

Document and track all department deficiencies through various problem-solving techniques.

Build prototype and preproduction electric motors in accordance with the build schedule.

Analyze motor defects and perform repairs as required.

Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop welding process for new motor designs.

Modify and build simply fixtures and tooling.

Operate machine shop equipment, and motor lab equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, robotic welder, wire forming machines)

Perform motor electrical tests in accordance with authorized procedures.

Maintain records on work performed, analyzes data collected and reports results

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

5+ hands on mechanical experience

Associate degree or experience in mechanical or electrical activities.

Prior prototype build experience

Knowledge and theory of electric motors

Manufacturing knowledge of electric Motors

Knowledge of assembly build processes in Manufacturing

What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualification):

Bachelor degree in related activity or 10+ years Mechanical/Electrical experience

Responsibilities:

Rotor assembly and rotor builds. More expectations and developmental roles. They will be working with the process engineers. There will be machining either lathe and or mill.

Will work with process engineers and other engineering team members.

Required Skills:

High School diploma/ GED required.

Manufacturing knowledge of electric Motors

CNC is a preferred qualification. Does not make.

Knowledge of assembly build processes in Manufacturing

***Candidate will have a competitive advantage if they have a bachelor s degree in mechanical/ Electrical.
