Committed to making a meaningful impact on patients' lives, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Science Liaison to join our team.


Position Overview: As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in rare disease or liver disease, you will serve as a crucial link between our client and the medical community, including healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and patient advocacy groups. Leveraging your expertise and industry experience, you will provide scientific and clinical support for our clients' portfolio of products, foster collaborative relationships, and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in the field.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Scientific Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest developments, clinical data, and treatment guidelines related to rare diseases or liver diseases, becoming an expert in the therapeutic area.
  2. Education and Training: Deliver scientifically accurate and engaging presentations to healthcare professionals, KOLs, and other stakeholders on disease state, product attributes, clinical data, and treatment pathways.
  3. Key Opinion Leader Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and professional organizations to foster collaboration, gather insights, and support research initiatives.
  4. Medical Inquiry Management: Respond promptly and comprehensively to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, providing evidence-based information and support as needed.
  5. Clinical Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical trial activities, including site identification, investigator meetings, and protocol development.
  6. Strategic Input: Provide strategic input and insights to internal stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Research & Development, to inform product strategies and initiatives.
  7. Patient Advocacy: Collaborate with patient advocacy groups and participate in educational initiatives to raise awareness of rare diseases or liver diseases and support patient-centric activities.
  8. Compliance: Ensure all interactions and activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or related role in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, preferably within rare diseases or liver diseases.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, pharmacology, and drug development processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 50-70% of the time).


Location: This position is remote, with frequent travel required within Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
