Post Doctoral Fellow - Clemson University Joint Between Chemistry and Bioengineering Departments

Job Details

Description

The CU Fellows: Integration of Upstream and Downstream Elements of Biotherapeutic Vector Processing position is a two-year funded appointment that seeks to bring two areas of expertise at Clemson University; CHO cell bioreactor control and operations in the laboratory of Prof. Sarah Harcum (Dept. of Bioengineering) and novel chromatographic methods for exosome isolation in the laboratory of Prof. R. Kenneth Marcus (Dept. of Chemistry).

These two laboratories already have extensive collaborations in place and are in fact in the same research facility. The premise of the position is to have a joint project focused on the high efficiency isolation of exosomes from mAb-producing CHO cell bioreactors. In this way, efforts to derive high-value exosomes as by-products of antibody production will be advanced. The focus is truly towards merging upstream and downstream processes to improve the overall productivity of CHO cell biotherapeutic production.

Descriptions of the respective PI research programs can be found at: and
